OPPOSITIONS AND OBSERVATIONS

Opposition may be filed by any interested party who considers his rights adversely affected. The term to file an opposition is 60 days counted from the publication date. The publication for opposition is made only after formal examination. The term to oppose a trademark application can not be extended. Although not necessarily completely developed, all arguments must be submitted on filing an opposition.

If an opposition is filed and the applicant does not take any action before the Office, the applied trademark is rejected by the office only after studying the merits of the opposition.
