A license must be recorded in order to enforce it against third parties. A recorded licensee may institute proceedings against third parties only with the consent of the owner.

A license can be recorded for only part of the registered goods and / or services.

A certified copy of the license agreement, where the number of the registered mark must be specifically indicated, is requested in order to record a license. Legalization is not needed. The license agreement must be translated into Spanish language.

A simple signed POA must be field. However no new POA must be submitted
if the recordal of a license is filed by the attorney/agent of record.
